Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, sparking the greatest and fastest-growing refugee catastrophe in modern European history. Since the beginning of the war, approximately 6.5 million people have been displaced within Ukraine, with 3.4 million fleeing across international borders into neighboring countries, according to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA).
